ENgine services
Engines are built, serviced and tested, one at a time, at our shop in Western Connecticut. We have the experience and the very best in tooling, machining, and metrology equipment in order to ensure every engine is prepared perfectly and ready to perform at its best. All engines are broken-in and optimzed in our in-house dyno facility. We have proven, National-level engines that we use as baselines for comparison. Every engine we service will be run on the dyno and compared to one of our proven engines.
There is no preset formula; based on an engine’s individual characteristics (port heights, conrod length, etc.), each engine is built, and then tuned on the dyno, to maximize its potential.

Approximate prices for our services*:
New engine race prep: $300/$500
OK-N Blueprint: $500/$700
Top/bottom/crank: $1,000 - $1,400**
*The above prices have a range based on engine type and parts that may or may not need to be replaced.

PLEASE NOTE: We do not do partial rebuilds (i.e. top end only) on motors that we did not originally build. It is our policy that any used motor that comes in not originally built by Fox + Son will require a full rebuild. We do not want to do partial service on a motor of which we don’t know the exact history. Once we start with a full rebuild, we then have a known baseline to monitor the engine for future work. Also, we will only seal Rotax engines that have been through a complete rebuild with Fox + Son Karting. Thank you for your understanding.
